Traveler Program
Reach the World’s Traveler Program is a fully customizable one-to-one virtual exchange program that connects teachers to our active traveler network across the globe and supports them in mapping global voices into their daily curriculum. Our volunteer travelers include Fulbright Scholars, Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholars and Peace Corps Volunteers traveling worldwide. This six- to 12-week program includes weekly content produced just for their students, shared projects and a minimum of three live video calls. Travelers directly inspire the next generation of global citizens to be curious about the world and seek global opportunities.
When you join Reach the World, we will:
- Match you with your own traveler to share weekly, media-rich content just for you and your students
- Schedule at least three video calls between your traveler and classroom
- Help you integrate your virtual exchange experience into your curriculum through a pre-journey Kick Off Call
- Assist you via regular, virtual support
- Invite you to join other special, global events
- Share our virtual exchange library with you, featuring hundreds of articles and videos
Program Cost
For over 25 years, Reach the World has brought the world into classrooms through virtual exchange, providing award-winning programming for students across the U.S. through generous support from individuals, foundations and corporate partners. All RTW programs are subsidized and most of them are free to participating teachers and schools.
Reach the World will never turn away a classroom due to budgetary constraints. The Traveler Program costs $225 per journey. If your school is unable to cover the cost of the program, there may be scholarships available to partially or even fully subsidize these program fees.
